The great advantage of this apartment was the location of the building, with its view over old Riga and the River Daugava from the top floor.
Weighing everything up, the architect decided to transform the apartment’s disadvantages – the fact of the space being limited by the atrium and the large number of vertical pipes – into an advantage.
This whimsical aspect is full of allusions to the interior of a luxury yacht, inspiring confidence on the level of tactile feelings by the closeness of its features.
In order to remove the aluminium struts that spoiled the view, the panes of glass around the whole of the interior perimeter were joined not by channel pieces but by the use of silicon.
